Michigan Photography is dedicated to capturing the essence of U-M through the people, the events and the spirit that make Michigan great. Our team provides professional photography services to the U-M community, the media and the general public. Located in the heart of Central Campus, Michigan Photography knows the university inside and out. Every day, our team of photographers records U-M’s history through thoughtful, creative and high-quality photographic images.

All of Michigan Photography services are available to anyone and everyone in the surrounding community; faculty, staff, students, their family, and the general public.  We are happy to call you “client.”

Awards

In 2015, Senior Photographer Eric Bronson won the University Photographers’ Association of America’s highest award, Photographer of the Year. It was the fifth time a Michigan photographer has won the award from UPAA — an international organization of college and university photographers that represents the very best in higher-education photography.

Our photographers are regularly recognized for their work.

How to Work With Us

You’ve decided there is something – or someone – that you would like to have photographed. Take just a few minutes to consider what your finished product is going to be and when you need to have it in hand. Knowing these few details you are well on your way to requesting a photo shoot with Michigan Photography.

When the campus is in full swing, it’s likely our staff is out and about documenting the action, art, expression and discourse that makes U-M the Leaders and Best. Our calendar has the potential to fill up quickly, and we don’t want to miss anything, so make contacting us a priority.

Our Client Services is always happy to take your calls or email inquiries. We know the questions to ask to get at the heart of these important details. Working together is what we do best.

Michigan Photography images are protected by copyright and may not be duplicated, reproduced or used without the permission of Michigan Photography.

There is a fee associated with use of Michigan Photography images. Please refer to user fee costs if you would like to purchase the rights to any of our images.

In purchasing stock photography from Michigan Photography, you are purchasing the rights to use this image for an agreed-upon purpose. No ownership interest or copyright in any image shall pass to you by the download of an image or by the granting of the license to reproduce an image. No permission is granted or implied to use the images for any other purpose than that stated in the license.

You may not:

  1. Transfer, re-sell, distribute or sub-license the rights to the image(s).
  2. Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the image(s).
  3. Use the image(s) in any way that could be considered defamatory, libelous, pornographic, obscene, immoral or fraudulent, or in negative ads.

All images on this site are copyrighted by virtue of creation. A copyright is the exclusive right granted to “authors” under the U.S. Copyright Act of 1976 to copy, adapt, distribute, publicly perform and publicly display their works of authorship, such as literary works, databases, musical works, sound recordings, photographs, other still images and motion picture and other audiovisual works.

Digital Release Rate Copyright Guidelines

In purchasing a CD Release Rate, the department associated with the purchasing shortcode has permission to display and distribute images for departmental use only. If someone outside your department wishes to use these images, please direct them to Michigan Photography to arrange payment.
